Hello everyone,
first let me say thankyou for all the work you've made on TF2 letting everyone enjoy this fantastic FPS!
Now then, I was wondering just a little thing,
I've got your NOSTEAM TF2 client, and can run it smoothly without any issue, the only concern is that I can't have my personal stats, I log in as "AcADiEn" and obviously I can't save my favuorites, friends or search for available servers.
I've found out we shoul use the KSO-STEAM program for unlock those features and have my personal account, but after I installed it, the program doesn't interact with the game, it doesn't recognize TF2 as a game I have already installed, instead it tells me to download it again, plus, if I try to start TF2 with the desktop shortcut while I have KSO STEAM active the game gives me a error about something "Gameoverlay" that didn't worked, and the screen get's black with the background music lagging a bit, I have to "alt+tab" few times first to be able to get back to windows and anyway, and then when I click back to enter in the game, is at the main menu and I'm always AcAdIeN without being able to save or anything.
Now, I can live with it since I can still enjoy the game, but it's so sad to not have my personal staus, and also, more than one time I played with other "AcAdIeN"s and that can cause some problems expecially with the spies, so I'm not alone with this problem.
I have registered a steam account with the KSO-STEAM, I can log in there without any problems but as I told it doesn't link to the TF folder I have installed.
Hope you will be able to help me, I've checked around for the forum, but I don't know the Latvinian language, so please be patient, and thanks for your help!

Hi, you probably didnt install full tf2 client from KSO.lv, cause Acadien is nick for many players that have downloaded their tf2 clients from some specific site or some specific torrent. So- i would recommend you to fully redownload your tf2 client , or try to patch your existing client with all the patches from kso.lv - up to 1.0.1.7. Which patch version do you have right now? You can check it in game typing "version" in console. And as i understand - you can't change your nick from Acadien to something else? If steam is started (doesnt matter original or kso-steam), you can change your nick in steam settings under friends-nickname. But the problem with overlay could be really because of the fact that you dont have all patches installed up to 1.0.1.7 or you use some other (and that's why unstable) full tf2 basic version. I need some more details to tell the reason of your problems. Maybe you can attach some screenshot which you get when you enter the game with started kso-steam.

Thanks a lot for the detailed reply,
the client I've installed is the torrent hosted on mininova and it's indeed from another website, I didn't noticed it at the begin!
You're right, it's a very old TF NOSTEAM client (1.0.1.0) and I've updated it with all the patches found on this website, till 1.0.1.7 and in fact I can play nicely without any error on the server on Setti List, it's just that my steam doesn't work with it.
Since I'm fearing the torrent had a really too old client I'm now getting the 1.0.1.6 version full client from this website, and then I'll patch it to 1.0.1.7, hopefully it will work.
Thankyou so much!

MDK, did you close your previous steam before opening kso-steam? And wasn't you able to change your nick even when you closed your steam?
Ok, if the download speed from this site is too low, then you can try also our torrent - http://www.mininova.org/tor/1135384
But as for patches - after installation of full client, instead the downloading of all patches one by one you can download and install this one - http://www.kso.lv/faili/tf2/patches/kso_tf...0.0-1.0.1.7.exe It is full (comprehensive) patch, that upgrades your tf2 from any version to 1.0.1.7

I never used the original steam, only the KSO one,
I'm sure that the problem was in the client I've installed.
If I will have any updates, I'll post about it, thanks again.
